Faizo Kawoya, a beloved comedian and actor from the bustling streets of Kampala, had always been the heart and soul of Black Pulse, a local entertainment hub. His infectious laughter and vivid performances brought joy to countless faces. However, one fateful day, his vibrant world turned upside down.

Faizo's journey into the abyss of illness began unexpectedly. One morning, while at home, he was struck by a severe stroke. The sudden attack left him disoriented, and he lost track of time and reality. That entire day, he couldn't muster the strength to walk or even comprehend what was happening around him. His memory faded, and the hours between six in the evening and the following morning became a blur, forever lost to the void.

Faizo's journey into the abyss of illness began unexpectedly. One morning, while at home, he was struck by a severe stroke. The sudden attack left him disoriented, and he lost track of time and reality. That entire day, he couldn't muster the strength to walk or even comprehend what was happening around him. His memory faded, and the hours between six in the evening and the following morning became a blur, forever lost to the void.

His family, alarmed by his condition, rushed him to Kasangati Hospital. The doctors, recognizing the severity of his stroke, promptly transferred him to a specialized stroke rehabilitation center. During this transfer, Faizo was taken to Nsambya Hospital for further examinations, a journey he has no recollection of. For three harrowing days, he remained unconscious, his fate hanging by a thread.

On the fourth day, Faizo finally awoke at the stroke rehabilitation center. The room was sterile, and the smell of antiseptic filled the air. As he regained consciousness, he was overwhelmed with sorrow and confusion. He couldn't remember the events that led to his hospitalization, only the pain and the fear that accompanied his sudden illness.

Yet, amidst this turmoil, Faizo found a glimmer of hope. The rehabilitation center, with its dedicated staff and comprehensive programs, became his sanctuary. He engaged in various exercises and activities designed to aid his recovery. More than just physical therapy, the center offered classes in practical skills like liquid soap making, bakery, and more. These new skills provided Faizo with a sense of purpose and a path forward.

As Faizo's strength returned, so did his determination. He decided that upon returning to his home on Ssese Island, he would start a liquid soap business. Inspired by the teachings of the Stroke Foundation Uganda, he saw an opportunity not only to sustain himself but also to thrive. Ssese Island, known for its influx of visitors, promised a profitable market for his new venture.

Faizo's journey from the brink of despair to a new lease on life is a testament to his resilience and unbreakable spirit. He often speaks with gratitude about the care and love he received from the rehabilitation center (SRC) and the Stroke Foundation Uganda (SFU). They gave him more than just medical attention; they provided him with hope, skills, and a renewed sense of purpose.
